Polaris is ALCF's latest high performance compute system for the ALCF user community. Polaris is an HPE Apollo 6500 Gen10+ with Nvidia GPUs and is currently the #14 system on the Top500 list. This overview will look at Polaris hardware details and software available on the system and give users a short demo of how to get started working on the system. This talk will also cover using Python/Conda on Polaris, with an emphasis on using ML libraries for distributed training.
