In this presentation I will share some of my past and current work that illustrates the intersection of conflict resolution and environmental justice. This intersection is a critical nexus in addressing contemporary challenges of cultural preservation, sustainable natural resource management, and equitable energy development and distribution. This presentation explores the synergies between conflict resolution strategies and environmental justice principles, emphasizing the importance of participatory processes, equitable resource distribution, and recognition of marginalized communities. Summarizing the highlights of my work, I hope to illustrate just a few ways that collaborative frameworks can transform social, cultural, and environmental conflicts into opportunities for sustainable development and social cohesion. Integrating the tenets of environmental justice and conflict resolution practices promotes solutions that are not only effective but also equitable and inclusive. Ultimately, this intersection offers a pathway to more resilient societies, where environmental stewardship and social justice are mutually reinforcing goals. And, in the spirit of collaboration, I would like to share an idea for an AI-assisted application that could create an alternate experience designed to broaden one’s boundaries of reality, which is often what is required in transforming conflicting perspectives from entrenched and exclusionary to collaborative and open.
