Ian is a faculty member in the computer science department at the University of Illinois Chicago.  He is joining for the remainder of the year through the sabbatical program to work on resource allocation challenges.  His research interests span a range of topics at the interface between economics and computer science.  Before joining UIC he spent seven years at Microsoft Research where he worked on topics including cloud computing and reinforcement learning.
